Anyone got any thoughts on one of these? I like to look of the thing, however concerned it may a bit too hardcore for my needs.
Looking at AM type full suss, for trail centre use and general off road days out in the peak district etc. Can get a good deal on one of these + cycle to work scheme contribution.
Too heavy for all day rides / climbs or worth a punt?

180/190mm of travel for XC and trail centre riding is a bit much.

It'll be a proper drag on the climbs due to the weight and the top tube is very short.

140mm is plenty for mainly trail centres and occasional other stuff.

Dragging 180mm round a trail centre will take all the joy out of it.

thanks for the input chaps, i think your right. I dont do enough DH / freeride type stuff to justify it and the weight/ travel would be too much for what it normally do. £1200 OFF seemed like a good buy

Think I read a damning review of that bike too btw. Possibly the reason it's got £1,200 off.

I take it you looked at Pauls Cycles.

The Giant Trance X2 or X3 on there would make a lot more sense for the riding you are planning.
