I have been offered a brand new 2009 stumpy carbon frame for about 1200 quid but have a couple of questions.

Anyone got one, and if so what do they think. I have ridden a 2010 model and it was awesome so thinking this could be a good deal!

its all the same horst link suspension, there won't be a whole lot of difference.

Cool, it is a sweet looking frame and will be a pimpy replacement for my current Trance....

With fork? They have a tapered carbon steerer, and were rather good.

If this is brand new not from a shop ie no warranty, then £1200 without fork isn't that amazing a deal.

I'd sooner have a 2010 not S-Works model I reckon.

It is brand new from a shop but no fork, can you convert to 1-1/8" with integrated headset?!

you can get a reducer headset that goes from 1.5 to 1 1/8. Chris King do em I believe.

starts to sound like a bit of a faff though, esp as the spesh fork was sort of integral to the whole 'system integration' marketing bollocks that I completely fell for.

I'd be looking for one with forks though.

You can just get a reducer cup from Spesh for far less money than the King, fit whatever you want then.

If it's from a shop that's not too bad, they're decent frames.

Good news, managed to persuade the shop owner to get a pair of the forks thrown in for free 🙂

Now this whole DMD nonsense, am i right in assuming that a shimano e-type front mech will fit minus the e-type mount bit? Other forums suggest it will and it looks like it will!
