2 and 3 position lockouts...together

I may be about to come into possession of a frame with a 2 position lockout shock, that can't be changed. I was wondering if there is any way to use this with a 3 position fork without ending up with separate remotes cluttering up the bars?

Don't know whether this is fox/rockshox, but for rockshox, I think 3 pos pulls 7mm then another 7mm to get through the two forkย  positions, and 2 pos pulls 10mm, which would also lock out your shock. So, in theory, the shock would remain open while the fork is in pedal mode and lock out for full lockout.

Only one way to find out...unless one of them is push to unlock Fox and the other is push to lock...

Hmm, it's a RockShox rear, 10mm to lock, and I was looking a DT fork (since prices are favourable) which is 5.5mm then another 5.5. I feel like they're close enough to where I could run the 2P Twistloc and just loose the middle fork setting or use the DT remote with some cable slack for the shock. Of course that's assuming DT is also pull to lock, haven't found anything that says yet.

Do they need remotes to adjust the settings? Both fork and shock are in arms reach so flicking a switch on either isn't too difficult...

The rear does, but there was a choice with the fork. There's always a chance the rear will pedal so efficiently it makes the lockout surplus to requirement

If it pedals well, then leave it off, unless it's push to unlock then you will need a short length of inner cable to tension it open. Those lock-out cables, more than any other cable, crud up fast in mucky conditions. The remote fork lock-out is good if you are a racer for starts and sprints though. Otherwise that's best as a fork-mounted lever imo.

Depends where you ride, but I flick between locked and unlocked on a short travel fork and shock fairly often during the ride, and would always choose a remote if available.ย

I might set it up without the remote just in the beginning to check I like the bike. With some bikes I never touch the shock, others I'm reaching down all the time. Got one now that could really do with a remote. If I had to make a prediction this new frame will be the one that doesn't need it, but we'll see.

Ordered the fork. First non Fox or RockShox fork for meย
