A mate wants to drop £1.5k on a new full bike. He hasn't specified whether it should be a HT or FS as he's not ridden for ages. 120mm will be enough I suspect.

I'm after ideas really. I always build my own bikes up so I'm not up on the full new bike market.

For the HT I'm thinking a 650b, like:

Genesis Latitude
Whyte 905

Any decent full sussers at £1.5k?

Check out here: http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/offers.php?cat=1

and the 2013 Salsas: http://www.billys.co.uk/english/productresults.php?brand=SALSA

Got Spearfish 3s at £1150

I got a Horsethief from them, no complaints!

For that money you could build up a decent BFe.

I recently bought a 2013 Kona Tanuki Deluxe, new old stock for £1475.

It was listed at £1899 and l have found it to be a great bike. The suspension is Rock Shox Sektor/Monarch RL.

Transmission is XT/Deore with Deore brakes. It has stealth dropper cable routing (although l never fitted one)
Travel is 130mm.
I've used it extensively, and the only upgrade l have done is to fit a remote lockout on the fork.
I looked online and there are bike dealers still with stock. I would say at that price it is well worth a look.
Although not everybody is offering it at the price l paid.

cheers. I did consider a custom build but the rider doesn't need the toughness of the BFe and the cost of a Soul is too high. Obviously I could build on a different frame but for simplicity I think a full bike is easier this time.

I'll check out those deals at Pauls, ta.
