Slowly (covertly from the wife) changing the old hard tail over to 11 speed. I've picked a NW Chainring, an SLX shifter and XT rear mech. So, unless I've missed anything, I now need a cassette and chain.
Should I be looking at SLX or wait for new Deore, or basic SRAM or Sunrace? 42t works for me
Cannot see much under £70 for both so if anyone's seen bargains, point me in that direction pls.
If you can and are willing to go XD then Sram 10-42T for £75. No question.
If you can't then Sunrace 11-46T if you want max range.
If you only need up to 42T then sunrace or XT/SLX.
I didn't think the new Deore M6000 was 11 speed.
Got brand new black sunrace 11-42T in a box at home if you are interested. Switched to Sram so no longer needed.
Buy a Laura Trott mountain bike for £350 before discounts, grab the bits you want, sell the rest.
Or keep Laura Trott's bike and flog the old one. 😉

I would change to an Slx rear mech and XT shifter. Thats a better feeling combo imo as the shifter makes much more difference.
Sunrace Cassette is pretty good too, though i have the 10spd version.
I've ran one 11spd chain and I'm onto my third 10spd chain on m8000 11-42t.
That Laura Trott bike is bloody cheap! Shame the NX cassette weighs as much as a small moon
@Teethgrinder - I dont get the point, probably cos I'm tired and wanting to go to the pub, but are you saying dont use 10spd chains, they melt, or do use them, you've had 3 and are awesome?
@Nairnster - Erm, thanks for the advice on Sunrace but I'll pass on selling XT/SLX for SLX/XT as I had the XT mech already.
Yes the Trott bike is a bargain but I love my HT frame.
AndyL - could be interested, pualneenan76@hotmail.com if you want to contact me about it.
Thanks All
Sorry. 10spd work as well as 11 for me. HG54 for 12 quid is a win.
Cheers teethgrinder
Hi Paul,
just dug out the cassette and the shop sent me the 10 speed...now need to chase them for a refund as I ordered an 11 speed.
£70 budget?
£22
