Hi,
Currently running a very old Ultegra (6500?) 9 spd setup that I'm looking to replace. Rear hub is a Hope Bulb I think.
As I understand it, this restricts me to 8/9/10spd cassettes...have I got this right?
If so, what groupsets are available in 10spd still...Tiagra 4700, Veloce...any others?
Thanks
Andy
You can run a 11spd MTB cassette. Isn't there also a new Shimano road 11spd cassette that fits on a 10spd compatible freehub? If so that would allow you to have 11spd on your bulb.
Don’t go down the campy route or you will need a new freehub body. And if you do have a bulb which would be an odd choice for a road bike I don’t think they ever made a campy one.
You could by the best group Shimano ever made dura ace 7800 if you can find a good used one.
Or as above go for the newer wider range 11 speed cassette that fits the old hubs.
Or file off some of the freehub body / or the cassette to make a normal 11 speed road one fit
