The southern gloop eat my 9 speed XTR rear mech, chain etc last night.

If i replaced 9 speed XT Cassette, chain, Mech and RH shifter with 10 Speed components will XT M770 Triple crankset work with 10 sp chain ?.

There was something like this on the forum yesterday, the consesus was, yes it'll be ok . (no experience myself, yet)
as long as you use the 9 speed front mech then yes as the 9 speed 44-32-22 needs a slightly different cage to 42-32-24 on the 10 speed.

Assuming the rings on the crankset aren't too worn to work with the new chain.
while we are on this, will a 9spd rear mech work with 10spd cassette and shifter? The indexing and therefore cable pull is all down to the shifter..isn't it?
From what I've read you need the mech too.
The amount of leverage is different between 9 and 10 speed mechs.
