Is running a 120mm fork in a Bird Zero TR frame designed for a 130mm fork going to make a significant difference?

Opinions please...

Run a bigger front tyre = problem solved.

Thanks Matt, my view has always been that even without a bigger tyre it wouldn't make a massive difference, but since I'm looking at spending, I thought I would ask 😁

It's 1 centimeter.. If it's an air fork, build quality and weight of the fork, fork pressure and tyre pressure and type of tyre would make more difference than plus or minus 1cm.

I guess it would technically lower the handle bars very slightly, all things being equal, whether that's a good or bad thing I guess depends on how well the bike currently fits you,but it's a nominal difference.

It's not even 10mm once you take sag into account and it's not like all 130mm travel forks have the same A2C.

It'll probably steepen the head angle by half a degree. You could get some offset bushings for the rear to slacken it out again or just live with it.

Edit: ignore. The zero is a hard tail init? 😳

I think a fair few owners run 140, which I think I would enjoy over the current 130. I think my Yari need some tinkering to get them sweet though

By contrast I’ve just moved from a 130 Pike with 2.3 Minion to a 140 Pike with a 2.5 Minion, and I’m going to have to look at bar height as it feels a world away from how my bike handled previously. Am sure it’s just a case of adjusting the spacers but you may need to make some minor tweaks to get things perfect..
