I’m in! Got to day 70 last year before we got COVID, and the last 9 months since has been s**t with long COVID; but I think I’m starting to get to a point that this is feasible again (with Pilates/easy walks on the days I need to back off to manage my energy). Plus I’m continuing to work from home quite a bit, so gets me out the house as the weather turns. @p20 is considering joining in too; but will count some of his commutes as 30 mins every day around some of his shifts is really hard (and also seems to still have a bit of a energy issue since COVID).
It’s not a question that’s been asked before and the man who can decide is dead so you can do what you like.
This challenge is about building on your hard gained fitness from the summer and keeping going when our natural tendency is to hibernate due to the dark nights and onset of winter.
30 minutes a day above what you would normally do is the challenge. How you achieve this is entirely up to you. Good health and the best of luck!
I’m in. Will extend the commutes home to take part. I’m usually crap at these things though
I'm in and starting today. This fits perfectly with "Christmas Chub Club" too...

I was going to start a 100 challenge too, but then I did a quick count up and I make it 111 days to Christmas. Start date would be 16th Sept?
15 days in Sept
31 in Oct
30 in Nov
24 in Dec?

That's what it says on post one, page one 😂
I'm two stone overweight, either I get with the challenge or I have to buy a new wardrobe.
I'm in - will be a mixture of bike commuting and swimming, just hoping my knee doesn't give up on me, so also throwing in some strengthening exercises.
This thread has inspired me to go to the pool just now!
I'm in again. I'll probably try and do the stupid kettlebell swinging thing in October too. Just because I didn't quite get through that all last year. Looking forward to it.
MrsF and I are in.
Mine will be road riding, turbo training, MTBing, running, hiking.
Hers will be running, hiking, yoga. I might join some of the yoga sessions too.
Those of us on strava - would be nice to set up a club, so we can all see what the others have done. Shall i set that up?

https://www.strava.com/clubs/CB100DayChallenge is there from last year, but if you want to set up a new one sounds fine by me.
I’ve created a new one for this year
In 👍
Good idea... I've lapsed in the last few weeks. When I'm on it, not lately though, basic rule is something every day, at least 6 days per week.
So when not doing a sport (cycling, football) or commuting, it's a push, a pull, a hinge, a squat, a core, plus any little rehabby bits. 1 set of each if feeling sluggish, or 3 sets if more motivated. This ends up being 2-4 times per week.
Not worrying too much about high weights or specific exercises. Bodyweight is fine. Take each set to a burn, final set to failure.
Usually with a podcast on.
I'm not at all jacked or working on progressing to higher weights, but I feel better in the weeks I'm doing this, and learn where I am restricted.
It's not a lot, but it's better than nowt.
Cheers for the reminder OP, did it with the Mrs last year upto 60/70 days then we both died from some kind of flue (we got better!).
Whoop, in the new Strava club and thanks to some hike-a-bike-tastic routes in the Lakes at the weekend have graced to top of a leaderboard.
That'll be the only time 🤣
I'm back!🥳If I can avoid the autumn lurgy, which many of us battled through,I'm in.
Any great tips for staying healthy in the colder months?Perhaps I should wear a mask all winter.
I was going to give this a go this year, thanks for sorting the Strava club, I am cunningly disguised as one of my cats on there! Will likely not bother logging non biking/running on Strava but will fit something in on empty days.
I’ve created a new one for this year
Also in the club. Looking forward to it.
I'm in. After a very disappointing summer, sprained my AC joint in early June playing on the trampoline with the kids, just as that started to feel better my appendix ruptured and I spent the whole of July laid in a hospital bed.
Just about getting back into hard exercise again now so having a challenge to hold myself too will definitely help.
I’m back!🥳
I was going to @ you @monkeycmonkeydo to make sure you were in, glad to see you back.
I'm probably not going to join the Strava this year, just log stuff on here (mostly because I don't think my pals want to see me filling up their feed with churned out gravel rides every day).
Hold on a sec, correct me if I'm wrong... but is this going to turn into another one of those threads where we end up hating the Scottish contingent and their daily photos?
🙂

I believe that may be the case! I was both jealous and inspired by the photos scotroutes and munrobiker put up. The photos that people put up in this last year were all great.
I've managed every day since the thread started... but not got out yet today. And it's solid grey outside. Someone kick me when the clock hits five...
Boot!!!
Get of your computer and get that run or ride done.
(But it starts Thursday really 😀
I don't feel like it. I'm getting changed anyway...
Thanks for your consideration munro.Looking forward to a few more Scottish images.
Oh...and sirromj as well.
I thnk I made 30 minutes today, riding to meet Ton and Mrs Ton for a couple of beers. No photos though.
Anyway, isn't this just the Prologue?
is this going to turn into another one of those threads where we end up hating the Scottish contingent and their daily photos?
Aye, it's always cracking up here between October and December...

Don't worry @monkeycmonkeydo I'll post some photos for balance 😀 This year my "lawn" will feature heavily with various arrangements of obstacle.
I'll @earl for their grease the groove idea last year, quite enjoyed that while working from home. Re the challenge, for me is to exercise every day - I've been having commitment issues as I do like a day or two off every week.
I joined the Strava club, looked through the activity feed, at mostly my own activities, so left as don't really want to spam it.
Get that cable sorted. You're a disgrace!
Managed an hour on grey paths under grey sky. So no photo.
Aye, it’s always cracking up here between October and December…
My theory is you take loads of photos on the one nice day you do get, then post them daily as if it were a regular thing.
And what @scotroutes says. That frayed cable 🤮
I'm in too. Third attempt at getting 100 days in. This time if I do miss a day I'm going to try to make up for it the next but will make every attempt to get the daily duty done. Last year if I remember correctly I missed a day then gave up.
Think I've managed at least half hour of some sort of exercise everyday for a week now. First time since first lockdown last year. Since I'm learning drums, I'm also adding a challenge of at least half hour of drumming s day be it jamming some nonsense, playing songs or specific and targeted exercises.
My physical exercise will consist of (hopefully) at least 1x bike ride, 2x walks, 2x calisthenics workouts - bodyweight stuff with a pull up rig - and then fill the rest of the days with some sort of yoga or just more walks. Bike rides will always be my priority over all of those though so if I get chance I'll be out for a ride instead of walking.
So far I just feel knackered, normal?
Went for a run over the fell tonight, just to ensure I'm crippled for the 16th

Makes for some interesting - and very useful - reading. Ideas for exercise, advice on health and recovery, various comments about the weather and the inevitable Covid impact.
After a big weight training session on Sunday I thought I would do some stretches.Note to self, stretching when cold will result in a pulled muscle!🤬
I walked to work and back yesterday in smart work boots for the first time since March 2020; and I’ve give myself shin splints ahead of this. Hahaha! Thankfully I don’t run!
I'm in, just joined Strava as well.
Q - what workout do I use for a spinning session as there is no indoor cycling that I can see on Strava? Workout?
How does everyone find the time? Some days I barely get time to stretch properly.
Q – what workout do I use for a spinning session as there is no indoor cycling that I can see on Strava? Workout?
There is one called ‘virtual ride’
This starts on the 16th right? The strava group seems to be logging rides already but I’ll take it as I do more early in the week and less as it goes on
Tempted.
What do you lot do on a rest day, after a particularly hard day, to keep it going? Is a 30 minute walk fair game?.
That's my only issue really with it, understanding the importance of rest days. I did the marcothon before, 5k a day, and ended up just really doing 5k a day, it ended up not being very good for my fitness.
How does everyone find the time?
That's the challenge!
Is a 30 minute walk fair game?.
Yes. Or Yoga / Pilates.
