British National DH Series Rd 2 Fort William Photo Gallery

This is a giant raw photo dump, no editing and tickling because a) it’s still a bank holiday, b) I haven’t had a shower since Friday morning and c) my nerves are shredded and I’m emotionally exhausted from a weekend of being the support team to a rider. To all of you that do this race after race, I take my hat off. Here’s a great big photo dump of shots. If you want actual proper photos of you looking rad, you’re probably best off checking out the photos by the pros on Roots and Rain. I was mostly just distracting myself from the fact that my husband was quite possibly crashing on the wall drop in the woods again, and praying to the gods of plastic, foam and D30 for safe passage. There’s a podcast of chat from the pits to come once I get to the faster computer at the office.

Thanks to the Scottish Downhill Association for putting on the race, all the sponsors for helping it to happen, and all the medics for attending to the injuries (all the slings walking round the car park didn’t do anything for my nerves!). Hope all the bumps, bruises and breaks heal fast!

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
