From 13th-15th October, people are able to go and peruse gorgeous hand built bikes and accessories, and chat to their makers. Sadly we couldn’t make the trip this year, so we’re bringing a taste of the show to these pages. Maybe it’ll make you wish you were there enough to get organised for next time. Spanish enduro-sled…

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

I think the nineties wants its ‘interesting but ultimately futile’ suspension bike back.

Looks complicated for not a huge gain.

Who’s swapping from gearbox to gearbox? I thought the point of gearboxes was lack of maintenance.

Mmmm, not sure I’d be able to pedal that up a hill 🤷‍♂️

That said, I really like it; I think the point of the cradle that will take any gearbox is so you can chose what you have fitted, and if yours become obsolete, broke, whatever… you can swap to something else, including derailleur.

Its pretty much the exact colour scheme of my early nineties KHS Montana Pro 😃

Actually a good looking and interesting bike, except for the floating brake arm. I guess they’ve decided its necessary, which is disappointing

What? It’s a steel Evil with a gearbox and brake arm from 1999 – what’s not to love?!
