Jake100 – or Jake O’Neill to give him his full name – is an urban riding star and YouTube creator. This year he’s helping run the London BikeStormz event, as well as working on his tricks and skills. We caught up with him for an episode of Desert Island Disc Brakes and chatted about what urban riding means to him, how his skills translate to the trails, and what he hopes to do with the opportunities his public profile now presents him.

Bikestormz is a youth movement in London, where young people, no matter their background, come together and ride – always with the mission to raise awareness for and protest against knife crime. In 2023, a new chapter has begun: Bikestormz London has officially been handed over from co-founder Mac Ferrari to his fellow founding member Jake O’Neill. Jake O’Neill, better known as Jake100, who is now also taking the lead role at Bikestormz.

On 19 August, the day of this year’s annual Bikestormz rideout, Jake100 and the Bikestormz community are about to wheelie through the streets of London and call for “knives down, bikes up”.

What Mark doesn’t know about social media isn’t worth knowing and his ability to balance “The Stack” is bested only by his agility on a snowboard. Graphs are what gets his engine revving, at least they would if his car wasn’t electric, and data is what you’ll find him poring over in the office. Mark enjoys good whisky, sci-fi and the latest Apple gadget, he is also the best boss in the world (Yes, he is paying me to write this).
