Megasack Giveaway Day 6: Maxxis Shorty Gen 2 Tyres

by 9

It’s Thursday, so it’s time to discover the penultimate of this week’s daily prizes…

We have daily (week day) prizes to be won, plus another of each prize which goes into our Megasack. Each day that you enter, you might win the daily prize. Whoop! But each daily entry also counts as an entry to win the Megasack. Enter every day to maximise your chances of winning the Megasack. Miss out on a daily entry because you don’t think that prize is one you want? You’re losing out on an extra chance to win the Megasack. Even if you’ve missed the daily draw, don’t worry, because you can still go back and enter in order to boost your chances of winning the Megsack.

To enter, you need to be logged in – it’s free to sign up. Once logged in, the entry box will reveal itself with a question. Answer it correctly to submit your entry. Easy peasy! Please note that prizes can only be sent to a UK address. Now that you’re caught up on what’s going on, let’s find out about the first great prize we have for you.

Maxxis Shorty Gen 2 Tyres

Mmm… new rubber. A pair, in fact, of Maxxis Shorty Gen 2 tyres, which Benji reckons will do your for the front and rear all winter, or the front all year round. If you’re the lucky winner, you’ll be getting the 29×2.4in version, with Double Down casing for excellent puncture resistance. This second generation tyre ‘takes lessons learnt between the tape at World Cups and the EWS, to provide greater grip and mud clearance for those times when the trail or track is saturated and spicy’.

Want to win these? Then watch the video!

Make sure you’re logged in so you can see and answer the question below.

Tuesday’s Winner

The winner of Day 5 (Lazer Kineticore Helmet) is user brommiepete

We’ll be in touch to get your prize sent to you but if you want to steal a march on that and help us out then email charlie.hobbs@singletrackworld.com with your address, and mobile number (for the courier) now.

Thanks to this year’s big brand supporters

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

Entered! Dunno if it’s just me, but the sound on the embedded videos doesn’t work.  If I go to youtube and watch there it does, just not on this page (and previous comp pages).  Chrome browser on chromebook.

If you asked me to guess the RRP of these tyres I would have went ridiculously high and still been about £15 too low.

I’m sadly way way way too aware of the costs of rubber… They’re hugely expensive.

I used to be a Maxxis fanboi like Benji. Unfortunately I have to trawl around to get a great deal on whatever decently reviewed rubber I can find now. Currently on some Goodyear’s which are pretty decent actually, and the pair was cheaper than one of those Shortys.

I’ll have to enter tomorrow, to get the Megasack entry. Still on those old-fangled 27.5 tyres.

Too big for me. Swap for 27.5s?
