Hannah thinks she’s discovered why mountain biking is fun: it’s because it started that way. “I didn’t realise you were trying to go fast.” I wasn’t trying to go fast, but I wasn’t intending to be slow either. I was trying to go as fast as I dared without risking wipeout and injury. As it turned out, Repack felt like it risked wipeout and injury at every turn. Let off the brakes and the gradient…

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

That sounds like an EPIC trip… I don’t know all these people like some on here will. But speaking to people who know stuff and are passionate, is awesome.

Just yesterday i was chatting to a local old fella, the conversation turned to Fords, he was telling me about when he used to race a Mexico 1600… lol… yup same old bloke used to race rally cars.

The oldies have stories.. they really do. You just have to settle down and listen.
