ACTOFIVE Cycles P-TRAIN CNC

It’s a full suspension bike. The deep-feeling HIGH PIVOT suspension gives massive traction and confidence on fast, rough trails while not missing trailbike attitudes through a well-balanced package.

Simon is based in Germany and has been building bikes since 2018. The bikes are CNC machined from solid aircraft grade 7075 alloy, bonded from thin shell elements and feature HIGH PIVOT suspension design. Simon says they have an organic shape which is uncommon for alloy frames.

His favourite part of the build is taking the freshly machined parts of the main frame out of the CNC machine, and says the CNC machined and anodized surface aesthetics is not from this earth!

  • Price: 5000 EUR for a frame
  • Frame material: Aluminum
  • Construction method: CNC machining and bonding
  • Wheelsize & max tyre clearance: 29 inch up to 2,5 inch width

Most challenging part of the build?:
The manufacturing process of the main frame front triangle:

  • Engineering and CNC programming for 3 frame sizes.
  • Each frame sizes has two halves.
  • Each half has inner and outer machining operations.
  • The Sum is 12 complex CNC programs just for the front triangle.
  • Plus Jigs.

That’s a lot of work!

More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments.
