Hannah, Benji and Mark sit down for a chat about the news you may have missed and the news that got them thinking. Benji likes Strava, Hannah is pretty sure she doesn’t. Is racers being cautious about injuries a new and emerging trend? Expect diversions, detours, and disagreement. Some of it is even about bikes.
What Mark doesn’t know about social media isn’t worth knowing and his ability to balance “The Stack” is bested only by his agility on a snowboard. Graphs are what gets his engine revving, at least they would if his car wasn’t electric, and data is what you’ll find him poring over in the office. Mark enjoys good whisky, sci-fi and the latest Apple gadget, he is also the best boss in the world (Yes, he is paying me to write this).
Interesting to listen to how you do and don’t use Strava. I use it and not really how any of your conversation suggested. Marks point about some people are dicks and some of them are on Strava is valid. I find it interesting in a geeky way to track my riding in terms of distance etc over the weeks/months/years and how much different bikes get used. It is a social media platform that allows me to see what friends are doing (sometimes without me!) and them me. Segments are of low importance but again interesting especially the longer climb ones to see changes in my fitness and bikes and their effects. All without being a d1ck hopefully. Good work keep it up.
