Chipps Pub Bike Framebuilding Downland

Podcast with Bespoked’s new co-owner Petor Georgallou

by 0

Perhaps you’re in the boat of thinking ‘one day, for a special birthday, maybe I’ll get a hand made bike’? Petor hopes that for the sake of the many small bike builders out there, you’ll decide to go for something sooner than that, or at least that you’ll come along to the Bespoked hand made bicycle show in London, October 14-16th this year, and give them all a good old fondle.

In this podcast, we chat about the challenges facing frame builders, why Petor thinks a hand made bike will be the perfect bike for you, and what plans he has for Bespoked this year.

If you’re interested in being an exhibitor, head over to the Bespoked website to find out more – even if you’re a corporate bike business that would like to support hand made builders, there could be an opportunity for you.

Having built frames for many years under the brand Dear Susan, Petor retired from frame building last year and is now the new co-owner of Bespoked, along with business partner Josh. They have plenty of plans to make Bespoked even greater and more fun, and we have plans afoot with them to bring you some great stories from the frame building world. Look out also for a feature in a future issue of Singletrack World, shot by Petor on film some years ago. It’s in our forward plan as ‘Petor goes mouldy…’.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
