Myriam Nicole’s Winning Race Run from Lenzerheide

Myriam Nicole has been on fire this season. There have been some ups and downs for sure, but the late part of the season has seen her confidence grow. Current women’s downhill world champion, she took the rainbow stripes in Val di Sole at the end of August. To back it up she took the win once again in Lenzerheide giving her the series lead by quite a margin.

There are two races left this season for the downhill riders, both in Snowshoe USA. It will also be the final round of the XC world cup. At the end of the season, Myriam Nicole may well be World Champion and the overall World Cup Champion.

Having struggled with the pressure of going fastest in Qualification in the past, in Lenzerheide Pompon was carrying the confidence that she could translate this into the winning run when it mattered most. The rainbow stripes snuck through split one just 0.369 seconds up, but by the finish line, her lead was an amazing 2.662 seconds. Myriam punched the air in delight. It was another step along the path of self-belief.

Here’s her winning run from Lenzerheide.

Winning run. This was a tough one to get. I guess all the work is finally coming together and the pieces are falling into place. The crowd keeping me going, I heard you.

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
