YT Release Three New Izzo Core Models

by 1

This time last year (or thereabouts) YT released the 130mm travel, 29in wheeled Izzo, its first foray into XC bikes, albeit it with a YT twist. Evidently this bike has scratched an itch for many riders and has found its place in the YT line-up. Now, on the back of the success of the original Izzo, YT is bringing out three core models based upon the original.

Available in three models, the Izzo Core has been given a refresh. Each model has 130mm suspension front and rear, and the lightest bike in the range, the Core 4 weighs in at 12.8kg (based on a small bike with tubes, no pedals and no bottle). Not far behind, a small Core 3 is 13.3kg, and a Core 2 is 13.8. Available in either Machine Grey, Assault Green, Black Magic or Ice Grey colourways. Prices start at €3399.

Izzo Core 2

The IZZO Core 2 has a hybrid frame consisting of a carbon fiber front triangle and durable aluminum rear-end. The Fox 34 Float Performance fork and Fox Float DPS Performance rear shock offer great performance and easy adjustability. The four-piston SRAM G2 brakes with 200/180 mm centerline rotors offer firm bite and the 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle groupset delivers reliable shifting performance. The IZZO Core 2 comes with the Maxxis Forecaster tyres and DT SWISS M 1900 Spline wheelset.

Izzo Core 3

The IZZO Core 3 has a carbon frame and carefully selected premium components. It will perform on the trail thanks to the Fox 34 Float Performance Elite fork and Fox Float DPS Performance Elite rear shock. The extended range of the SRAM GX Eagle (10-52T) groupset improves pedaling efficiency and allows for precise and highly reliable gear shifting. G2 brakes with 200/180 mm centerline rotors make sure riders find the modulation they require on any trail. The tires of choice here are also the Maxxis Forecaster paired with a DT Swiss M 1900 Spline wheelset.

Izzo Core 4

The IZZO Core 4 is built with ultra modulus carbon fibre, meaning both front and rear triangles deliver maximum performance at minimal weight. Thanks to the new FOX 34 Float Factory with its Grip 2 damper paired with the Fox Float DPS Factory, the IZZO Core 4 will surge over the most technical trail sections both uphill and downhill. The SRAM XO1 groupset with an extended 520% range maximizes pedaling performance and efficiency, while SRAM G2 RSC brakes allow for perfect modulation and stellar braking power. DT Swiss XMC 1501 Spline carbon wheels and Maxxis Forecaster tires enable maximum stability and acceleration.

Availability

YT says it expects initial shipments to happen this October. Availability will depend on size, colour and model. However, YT said that any bike with a lead time longer than eight weeks will be eligible for its new pre-order service. Talking about the new pre-order service, YT said, “Riders can pay a 10% fully-refundable deposit to reserve their bike, with the balance being charged four weeks before the bike ships. Customers can see their projected ship date when placing their order.”

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.

Really like the look of the izzo, but would prefer rockshox and shimano. Shame there doesn’t seem a frame only option
