Speed and Style Replay – Crankworx Innsbruck 2021

This year was the first time that Crankworx Innsbruck hosted both a women and men’s speed and style event. Robin Goomes went all out and is the first woman to do a backflip in Crankworx history. After the events so far, here are the current standings for the King and Queen of Crankworx.

Women’s Gold Medal Run

I can see the tricks are just progressing, so Iโ€™m going to have to step up my game and switch things up. Iโ€™m looking forward to it getting harder and the progression growing. Hopefully one day weโ€™ll have a final with dual backflips going on.

Jordy Scott

Jordy is now undefeated in speed and style, having won every event since the womenโ€™s category was introduced (Whistler 2019 and Rotorua 2020).

Men’s Gold Medal Run

I felt a little bit slow, so I was like โ€˜ok, change the trickโ€™. Until the end I was just focused on that, waiting for it and praying itโ€™s gonna work. Iโ€™m still in shock. Iโ€™ve been doing a lot of double flips recently, but Iโ€™ve never done it in a race. Itโ€™s so stressful to go so fast and push so hard for it.

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
