by 2

Like a flower in bloom, the world is once again starting to open. Albeit it with trepidation and hopeful optimism. There’s stuff happening, races, launches, events and more. Here’s a round-up of what’s been happening, and here’s hoping we can safely continue.

No easy feat, but Tom put down somewhat of a superhuman performance in some pretty wild conditions. Racing will be super tight this season.

Pirelli Launches SmarTUBE

Pirelli say their new tubes offer a 70% reduction in weight and take up 50% less space.

Road PZero, MTB scorpion and Cinturato for gravel and endurance.

Pirelli say that, “The SmarTUBE promises a reduction in the weight up to 70% compared to the already lightweight latex tubes. This is the most advantageous way to reduce the weight of a bike: an advantage that also translates into less mass on the wheels and therefore better responsiveness of the bike, particularly when climbing and accelerating.”

The tubes are yellow with black valves and available now at €29.90/ £27.99. See more here.

Atherton Bikes Move into New Premises

Atherton Bikes have now moved into their new home at Dyfi Eco Parc, Machynlleth. Following the launch of the brand in January 2019, the brand has grown quickly and are now ready to take their next steps.

The new site will house their staff, with the ground floor operating as the factory and upstairs as office space. Upstairs will also have a showroom and coffee bar.

We’re privileged to work with and alongside some of the pioneers of MTB in the UK and we have great relationships with many more. ‘Mach’ is awash with mountain-bike heritage from the first trails in the woods in the 80s to the first Dyfi Enduro in 2002, British Singlespeed Championships in 2005, Rhugog National Point Series, and of course Red Bull Hardline and Dyfi Bike Park. When it came to finding a location for our manufacturing business there was nowhere that came close.

ION Launch 2021 Footwear Line

The title sounds boring, and let’s face it, footwear launches are rarely that exciting but Ion have launched their new line with a sweet new video. However, if you want to see the shoes in detail, we’d suggest visiting their website for the 2021 range. This video is full of good vibes.

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
