YT Capra Pro and Base alloy models refreshed for 2021

by 1

YT has replenished its stock with fresh new alloy versions of the popular Capra available in Base and Pro builds.

If you’re after a new Capra then today might finally be your chance as two new alloy builds of the burly enduro bike have been released to the public. The models cover both Base and Pro builds each featuring durable alloy frames and available in sizes S/M to XXL.

Each Capra AL build also has options for either 27.5in and 29er wheels, but it appears the buy direct German brand has dipped its toe into the mullet world yet with its flagship big hitter. Travel on the models remains unchanged with the smaller wheeled bike boasting 180mm of front and rear travel, whereas the 29er gets 10mm less.

Pro spec bikes will come built up with a mix of Fox suspension, and SRAM GX componentry while the more affordable Base bikes will run RockShox suspension and SRAM SX kit.

Below we have listed the geometry and pricing of each model, but for full specifications and availability head over to the YT website.

he CAPRA is the most popular bike in our range. We are stoked to offer these aluminium frame options to riders around the world. The CAPRA Pro caters to demanding riders who like to dial their bike to the finest detail, while the CAPRA Base allows a rider to hop on carefree and have plenty of GOOD TIMES without putting too much thought into it. We expect the overall stock availability to improve as the year continues. Our team is working incredibly hard to satisfy the demand and to make lead times as short as possible. Current availability dates can always be found on the website for each model.

After last weeks’ Saracen announcement, with a 505mm reach on their large Ariel. The large Capra has a reach of 455mm, the same size as a SMALL Ariel.

Crazy how disparate sizing can be right now.

Good that folk are pushing the boundaries – like Saracen – even if I think they’re too long, but can’t help wondering why with an alu frame YT are sizing up so short still.
