Social Spots | Tree Taps, Tyre Taps, Tricks and Triumph

by 0

You could waste a lifetime on social media. We’ve helpfully brought together some highlights, to make you more efficient. Watch these highlights, then get back to important stuff. Like riding bikes and eating biscuits…

Since Red Bull Rampage is just around the corner, this Social Spot comes from Utah. Where apparently strange forces make bikes go sideways, and limbs detach themselves from contact points on the bike.

Veronique Sandler

Vero says: “Rest day manoeuvres from the desert today! Hyped to ride what we’ve been building on tomorrow “

Bryn Bingham

Yeti supported riders Bryn and Easton have been out pulling shapes. Damn them and their skills, and damn we’d like to see that sky.

Canyon Jones

Try, try, and try again. Tyre tapping twisting madness.

Easton is back, sideways again, and this time with a tree tap.

Occasional Singletrack contributor Fahzure also brings us a tree tap. Possibly not such an intentional one as Easton’s… Keep your eyes on the Singletrack Instagram account next week for behind the scenes images as Fahzure heads to Red Bull Rampage.

Gavin Godfrey

Gavin Godfrey takes an ex-marine out for a bike ride – on his back. He says:

“When my brother @tgodfrey155 broke his back almost 12 years ago and lost the ability of what his legs use to be like! I made a promise to myself that if I can help someone with what I have and so I’m blessed with I will do it! Not for the exposure and not for the fame! For the pure joy of helping a friend experience life again! Yesterday I was able to take @jonathonblank0321 on a 7 mile bike ride on this #ebike . He told me this was the first time he’s been on a bike ride in 10 years! Jon served in the marines for 8 years and stepped on an IED and lost his legs! Everyday he struggles. I struggle too! My company @g0getterr is a daily reminder to myself on why I’m starting it in the first place! It’s to do good and help people believe in themselves! Everything is possible we just have to figure out how to make it happen. Doing good makes me feel good! It helps me forget about my struggles! I’ve changed in my many ways with how I view myself. I use to think I was a rockstar and now I want to share my joy/passion for life! Do service and give back! It’s what I do”

…And now recommence your day. That’s your social media digest. We waste time so you don’t have to.

Hannah Dobson

Hannah came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. Having worked in policy and project management roles at the Scottish Parliament and in local government, Hannah had organisational skills that SIngletrack needed. She also likes bikes, and likes to write.

Hannah likes all bikes, but especially unusual ones. If it’s a bit odd, or a bit niche, or made of metal, she’s probably going to get excited. If it gets her down some steep stuff, all the better. She’ll give most things a go once, she tries not to say no to anything on a bike, unless she really thinks it’s going to hurt. She’s pretty good with steri-strips.

More than bikes, Hannah likes what bikes do. She thinks that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments.

Hannah tries to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
