The Trust Performance Message linkage fork is now officially available in the UK, but you’ll only be able to buy one at physical bike stores and it isn’t particularly affordable.

Like them or not, linkage suspension forks are making a bit of a comeback and there are already 2 brands on the market vying for our hard earned cash, but only one can be bought in the UK through independent bike shops. Today it was announced that U.S suspension brand Trust Performance has teamed up with Upgrade in the UK to distribute the all carbon linkage Message fork.

The Message fork will cost a cool £2500, and customers will only be able to order and purchase the fork through physical bike stores rather than through online merchants. Upgrade explains the reason for this is to ensure the fork is correctly installed and set up from the off.

Upgrade is also teaming up with stores and events through the year to make the Message available to demo. Linkage curious mountain bikers will be able to climb aboard the Message at the following demo days;

  • Leisure Lakes Demo Weekend – Cannock Chase. 23 & 24 March
  • Malverns Classic – Eastnor Park, Ledbury. 14, 15, 16 June
  • Ard Rock Enduro – Reeth, Yorkshire Dales. 3, 4, 5 August

We recently tested the novel Trust Message the results of our review can be read here. Official information about Trust Performance and Upgrade have a read of the official press release below;

“TRUST PERFORMANCE has confirmed Upgrade Bikes Ltd as their distributor for UK and Ireland. This is great news for consumers who can now purchase the MESSAGE fork via selected dealers or arrange test rides.

Retail price for MESSAGE fork in the UK is £2,500. Upgrade is keen to point out that this fork will only be available through independent bike dealers as correct installation and setup is key to understanding and enjoying the fork. Dealers are encouraged to apply to Upgrade to become an authorised stockist which gains access to a demo fork program and detailed staff training.

Test riding will be high on the agenda for mountain bikers considering the TRUST MESSAGE fork and Upgrade are building on a demo events calendar that works in conjunction with their existing Pivot Cycles demo events. The Pivot Trail429 is an ideal bike to test the Message fork on and will debut this month at the Leisure Lakes weekend (this event is already sold out).

TRUST is a new company, notably founded by a trio of industry heavyweights: Dave Weagle (engineer and inventor of suspension designs DW link, Delta link, and Split Link), Jason Schiers (Founder of Enve Composites) and Hap Seliga (Co-founder of US retailing giant, Competitive Cyclist).

TRUST’s first suspension product, the MESSAGE fork has been more than five years in development and was kept very under wraps until late 2018 when it first surfaced on the internet, creating an international media storm. The MESSAGE offers 130mm of travel and works differently from all telescopic forks in that it is engineered to maintain trail (and hence head angle) and increase stability as it moves through its travel.

    After that review I get the impression they are going to be a lot rarer than Leftys.

    Not just one review either. Shame, the concept has lots of potential positives, just still too many negatives it seems.

    £2500 for a fork everyone slates!

    These aren’t getting any prettier, are they?

    @rhayter They’re different that’s for sure!

    Anyone else just not bothered?
