Innsbruck is once again the home to Crankworx this time around it will be the 2nd stop in the Crankworx World Series with events kicking off on the 13th June running through to the 17th.
The bike festival will cater for all genres of mountain biking, well if you prefer the more extreme end of the scale, and will host Slopestyle, Downhill, Whip Off, Dual Speed & Style, and Pump Track events. There will even be a Kidsworx event for younger shredders to get involved in too.

CRANKWORX 2.0: THE REALM OF THE EXTRAORDINARY
From 13 to 17 June 2018 bikers from all over the world will be meeting for the second time for the biggest Gravity Mountain Bike Festival in Innsbruck. Whether they be mountain bike professionals in Slopestyle, Downhill, Whip Off, Dual Speed & Style or Pump Track – in 2018 they’ll be riding faster, flying higher and jumping further than ever before.
The Crankworx World Tour 2018 has four stops. It starts in March in Rotorua in New Zealand. The riders then have a stopover in Innsbruck from 13 to 17 June before continuing to Les Gets in France (June) and then on to Whistler in Canada, the birthplace of the Crankworx World Series, where the tour finishes in August. The 15th edition of the format has the motto “The realm of the extraordinary”,so in 2018 we can look forward to seeing records broken and all previous achievements improved
on.
Huge success on debut in 2017
Whip Off, Dual Speed and Style, Pumptrack, Slopestyle and Downhill: these five competitions saw the spectacular series of events celebrate its première in Innsbruck last year and it proved to be a complete success. 300 riders and 18,500 fans flocked to Bikepark Innsbruck on the day of the event and cheered on the world’s best gravity bikers. Crankworx Innsbruck was an outstanding event not only because of the unique scenery, but also because of the professional organisation and fantastic
weather.
Faster, higher, further in 2018
Once again Innsbruck Bikepark is to be the location where the gravity mountain biking élite meet to put their skills to the test whilst being cheered on by enthusiastic fans from all over the world. The event gets underway by the reservoir at Bikepark Innsbruck at 5:30 pm on Wednesday 13 June with the Official Alpine Whip Off Championships presented by SPANK. This is followed by one spectacular event after another over just four days. Thursday is all about momentum because the riders will be fighting it out at 8 pm on Thursday night with no pedalling, just lots of feeling and flow.
The “combiners” amongst the Gravity Mountain Bikers set off at 5:30 pm on Friday to compete in the Mons Royale Dual Speed & Style Innsbruck. With the Crankworx Innsbruck Slopestyle presented by Kenda at 3:30 pm on Saturday and the iXS Innsbruck Downhill presented by Raiffeisen Club at 11:30 am on Sunday, the programme for the weekend includes the top disciplines in gravity mountain biking. As part of Kidsworx Innsbruck, there will once again be a varied programme of workshops about mountain biking for young bikers and the stars of tomorrow. The individual venues in Mutters and Götzens are extremely well connected by public transport and shuttle buses. Passionate bikers simply get on their bikes and will find plenty of storage space for their bikes at the event venue. Car parking at the venue itself is limited and subject to a charge and, with parking also very limited in the immediate vicinity, we recommend using public transport.

Bike City Card – The key to the bikers’ heaven in Innsbruck
Have you had enough of watching and fancy completing a few metres of downhill yourself? Just one ticket gives bikers access to all the single trails around Innsbruck. The Bike City Card includes the trails on the Nordkette, at Bikepark Innsbruck in Mutters/Götzens (restricted access during Crankworx), Bikepark Tirol in Steinach and the two trails by the Elferlift in Neustift in the Stubaital valley. The ticket is available for one to five days and even entitles bikers to visit several trail areas on the same day. And, of course, unlimited use of the cable cars including bike transport is included. There’s no better way to make use of the event-free time. By the way, a new star will be shining on the bikers’ heaven in Innsbruck from 2018. At Bikepark Innsbruck, the “Home of Crankworx”, a brand new trail is waiting for you to try out. Whistler Trail guru Tom “Pro” Prochazka, no less, and his “Gravity Logic” team have pulled out all the stops and designed a flowtrail in a class of its own. “The Chainless One” runs from the middle station to the valley station in Mutters and promises plenty of enjoyment. Due to its flowy construction “The Chainless One” is a trail for everyone, whether total beginner or expert. A trail that’s fun and on which the bike rides itself – chainlessly in fact.
