If you are heading to the lush green course of Mountain Mayhem this weekend then we imagine your bike preparation and packing has already started. But one thing you don’t need to worry about over the weekend is keeping your bike clean as the official event bike cleaner, Dirtwash has all that covered.
“We’ll be giving competitors the opportunity to clean their bikes for FREE all weekend. We’ll be located in the lubing and cleaning area, so look for the Weldtite flags and be sure to visit us before you re-lube your chain. In fact, why not come and check out our full range of cleaners before the race starts – We may even have some special event offers for you while you’re there!”, said a Dirtwash spokesperson.
The latest weather forecast for the event, just south of Gloucester is for rain on Friday but dry with sunny spells over the weekend. We predict some mud in the trees (it’s been raining a lot recently) but drier, faster conditions out in the open.
Gatcombe Park, the venue for this the 19th Mountain Mayhem is not open to the public and is in fact the home of the Princess Royal and her family. It’s a rare and special occasion that this weekend the gates to the park are swung open for mountain bikers. Previous years at the venue have seen the Princess Royal herself attend and hand out the trophies to the podium winners. There are precious few events that can claim that level of royal approval.
