Gnar Park Opening

Set in 46 acres of woodland in Low Hesket, the new GNAR bike park aims to offer an feature-rich bike park experience just south of Carlisle.  With a personal investment of  £29,000, a £6,500 Government-backed business start-up loan, and countless personal and volunteer hours, founder Ben Eggleston appears on track to open his facility in three weeks’ time.

Aiming to one day be “Britain’s premier privately-owned bike park,” GNAR will be a fee-for-use facility aimed at helping riders maintain and progress their skills.  Five trails catering to a wide range of abilities will be ready for opening, with more under development.  The park will be push-up to begin with an uplift planned.  All-day tickets are set at £8, and those looking to get a ride in after work can take advantage of the £5 5pm-on rate.

While GNAR does have the beginnings of a website, their Facebook page is the best place to find up-to-date information.

I put in to the original fundraiser. The amount of hard graft Ben has put in since is absolutely staggering! Looking forward to receiving my invite.
