Despite the recent popularisation of all things fat, mid-fat, and just chubby, the suspension fork market has been somewhat slow to respond. And given the time and expense of developing new lower-leg castings -to say nothing of the proliferation of front hub standards- it’s no surprise that the big players haven’t been quick to jump into things.
Enter Wren Sports. Based in California, the company’s inverted suspension fork platform readily lends itself to today’s girthy rubber. No brace to foul means that one fork can fit tyres ranging from 26×5.0in to 29×3.0in at travel ranging from 120-150mm- and only the crown and axle need to be changed (at time of manufacture) to accommodate different front hubs.
Not content with peering across the ocean for their fattie fork fix, Worcestershire’s Cranknuts have Wren under their wing. As Wren’s European Fork Distributor and Service Centre, the Canfield distributors are now stocking Wren forks and service parts while providing service and warranty repairs. Models for several tyre/hub combinations are available now through the Cranknuts website, starting at £795. Here’s the full release:
Cranknuts Is Wren’s European Suspension Headquarters
Vallejo, CA – May 20, 2016 – Wren Sports, LLC (www.wrensports.com) is delighted to announce that Cranknuts (www.cranknuts.com) have been appointed their European Fork Distributor and Service Center. Kevin Wren, owner of Wren Sports said, “Working with Mark, Andrew and their technical team at Cranknuts is an outstanding opportunity to bring Wren suspension to the European market. Cranknuts is committed to providing World Class products and World Class service critical to our efforts in expanding beyond North America.”
Wren Forks have rapidly gained recognition in the Fatbike and MTB markets and have recently introduced new models to accept standard and plus sized hubs. As Wren suspension forks gain an ever growing following outside of their US base, Cranknuts have been chosen as the partner of choice to provide both sales and technical capabilities to support the continued growth in the UK and Europe. Mark Young, director of Wyre Workshops Ltd (parent company of Cranknuts) said, “We are excited to be supporting the new technologies demonstrated in the forks from Wren Sports. There are many things which have impressed us with these forks, from the torsionally stiff keyed stanchions, to the user adjustability of the TwinAir system. Further adjustability of both the axle to crown length and travel on an inverted design makes this truly adaptable to different geometries and is unique in the market place.”
Along with the Wren forks, Cranknuts will be stocking all service parts and providing service and warranty repairs through their factory trained service department.
