Tahoe Bikepath

Is This The World’s Most Expensive Bike Trail?

by 1

Lake Tahoe in the U.S state of Nevada could soon have a brand new bike path connecting Incline Village to Sand Harbor State Park, which amounts to three miles and will cost $12.5million… over four million dollars per mile!

The 10-foot-wide bike path will stretch along the beautiful mountain lake and join with the Flume mountain bike trail above.

The path will bypass Route 28 and will also require an underpass below the highway.

Local tax-payers will be the ones out of pocket but an additional $750,000 has been raised in private donations.

It is worth pointing out, though, that Nevada residents pay no income tax and instead funds projects such as this one through a tax on petrol (confusing, right?).

Still, Nevada residents voiced their concerns in the comments section of the Las Vegas Review Journal, although it’s not clear that they realise they don’t pay income tax…

Love that, people who pay very little tax complaining about projects, then some idiot reckons it would be much better to cut peoples wages 🙂 Only in America
