Oi! New Knog Bell To Change All Bells

by 4

Knog have designed a rather nice and unobtrusive looking bicycle bell, called the Oi:

knog-oi

Unlike a conventional dome-shaped bell, it takes up only a thin strip of handlebar space, and every part of it sits close rather than sticking out. Also, while this feature might be more applicable to road and commuter bikes with narrow bars, it even has a clever bit of cable management built into the clamp:

Here are a load of the prototypes they went through:

At present they’re only available through Kickstarter with delivery expected in August this year. Since they’ve raced past their target in a matter of hours, we expect to see them for sale by more conventional routes subsequent to that.

David started mountain biking in the 90’s, by which he means “Ineptly jumping a Saracen Kili Racer off anything available in a nearby industrial estate”. After growing up and living in some extremely flat places, David moved to Yorkshire specifically for the mountain biking. This felt like a horrible mistake at first, because the hills are so steep, but you get used to them pretty quickly. Previously, David trifled with road and BMX, but mountain bikes always won. He’s most at peace battering down a rough trail, quietly fixing everything that does to a bike, or trying to figure out if that one click of compression damping has made things marginally better or worse. The inept jumping continues to this day.
