The PMBA enduro series has announced their full sponsor lineup, and not coincidentally the full amount of the prize pot, which comes to over a frankly hefty £20,000. Of this, there is over £1000 in cash prizes. Not bad.
We knew that the title sponsor would be Hope Technology (check out the story title), but PMBA also welcomes back Datatag, the bike-logging people, O’Neal the clothing and protection brand, and Orange are supplying the largest single prize the PMBA series has ever seen…
Also on the list is KS, makers of fine dropper posts (and a stem), Ride Slovenia, Lazer Helmets and the much beloved (they make our Singletrack Beer, don’t you know) Kirby Lonsdale Brewery. Event management is by Borderline Events using ST transponders for timing.
Every entry is also a raffle ticket and PMBA has announced 2 huge prizes – a whopping £3000 voucher for a Orange bike of your choice (Five, Alpine, Segment or any bike from Orange’s range) and a £1000 week long holiday for 2 at Ride Slovenia. Your scribe has been to Slovenia to ride, and is here to tell you that it is ace.
And this year, PMBA has prize equivalence – it doesn’t matter if you’re racing Elite, Women, Junior, Senior, Master, Veteran or Grand Veteran every category will race for the same prizes over the series. Prizes will rotate over these 7 categories at each of the 7 rounds – cash, Hope goodies, O’Neal protection; KS Posts, Lazer Revolution Helmets, Datatags, Kirkby Lonsdale Ales and Orange goodies will all be up for grabs.
With entries for rounds 4-7 opening in a month the countdown is on. Rounds 1 & 2 sold out within days of the entries opening back in December, so racers will need to be quick to secure a place in one of the remaining rounds – entries for rounds 4-7 open Monday 22nd February, with 150 places at midday, and a further 150 at 8pm the same day.
