Economics, personal risk cited
Citing economic and – more worryingly – personal risk issues, Doris and Georgy from Trail Solutions have today announced the cancellation of the 2016 European Enduro Series and all of the races under the EES banner.
As recently as November, a seven-event championship series had been scheduled between March and November in Italy, Sweden, France, and Spain – with the trans-border Reschenpass touching dirt in Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. From the phrasing of the brief Facebook and Website releases, the increasing risks to promoters organising enduro events weighed heavily in the decision to cancel.
While enduro’s associated fashions have earned some much-deserved ribbing from the cycling press, the slow up/fast down events have breathed some welcome excitement into the sport and remains more accessible and enticing to many than either downhill or cross-country. We have to hope that this is more a bobble than a full-blown crash, and not the first indication of a bright flame burning out too quickly.
Here’s the release in full:
::: BAD NEWS ::: BAD NEWS :::
After careful consideration, Trail Solutions made the hard decision to stop organizing events.
On the one hand the economic situation is forcing us to stop organizing events, on the other hand the personal risk as an event-organizer is getting higher and higher and we are not willing to take this risk anymore.
Due to this decision we have to cancel all our events including the races in Innsbruck as well as the European Enduro Series.
We say THANK YOU to all the participants and partners of the last years: you made each event a SPORT-HIGHLIGHT!
… see you on the trail!
Doris und Georgy Grogger

No money and loads of risk in organising events ……
I enjoyed the EES when I did one, and wanted to do the July one this year.
