Polaris Pit Stops Launch in Peak District

by 3

Polaris is partnering with six Peak District cafes to carry essential spares for cyclists. The nearest LBS or the car aren’t always in easy reach out there, but hopefully in such cases, one of these cafés will be. The spares list includes tubes for every popular wheel size; cables, split links, lube, and zip ties (no mention of mech hangers though). There is a small charge for the parts, payable in the cafés, but all profits go straight to the Peak District Mountain Rescue team.

The cafes with these boxes of emergency spares so far are:

Bank View Cafe – Langsett
Norfolk Arms – Ringinglow
Eyam Tea Rooms – Eyam
Penny Pot Cafe – Edale
Palmers Cafe – Calver
Longshaw Cafe – Longshaw Estate

Does that include Ebikes too?

David started mountain biking in the 90’s, by which he means “Ineptly jumping a Saracen Kili Racer off anything available in a nearby industrial estate”. After growing up and living in some extremely flat places, David moved to Yorkshire specifically for the mountain biking. This felt like a horrible mistake at first, because the hills are so steep, but you get used to them pretty quickly. Previously, David trifled with road and BMX, but mountain bikes always won. He’s most at peace battering down a rough trail, quietly fixing everything that does to a bike, or trying to figure out if that one click of compression damping has made things marginally better or worse. The inept jumping continues to this day.
