Jenn Hill

It’s with tremendous sadness that we have to announce that our Deputy Editor, Jenn Hill died yesterday after her long battle with lung cancer, at St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds. She was 37.

Although expected after her decision to step down as Deputy Editor just over a month ago the news is still shocking to all of us at Singletrack and Grit.cx. All our thoughts are now with her husband Tom and all her family and friends.

Singletrack Owner/Publisher

Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.

  1. Such a shock even though the outcome was inevitable, condolences to husband Tom, both genetic families and work family at Singletrack.

  2. RIP Jenn, I never met Jenn I only wished I had, an inspiration to me as a cyclist and human being from everything I’ve read. Somehow bikes right now don’t seem important

  3. Jenn was an absolutely inspiring woman who would light up a room with her presence. We were privileged to have ridden with her and she will be terribly missed.

  4. Such sad news. Just heart-rending.

Thoughts go out to her nearest and dearest, and to all her colleagues. There must be a huge numbness and a Jenn-shaped gap in your world.

  5. The last thing she said to me was “see you soon” knowing full well she wouldn’t.
That was Jenn through and through, endlessly positive, supportive and giving.
