Jenn Hill

It’s with tremendous sadness that we have to announce that our Deputy Editor, Jenn Hill died yesterday after her long battle with lung cancer, at St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds. She was 37.

Although expected after her decision to step down as Deputy Editor just over a month ago the news is still shocking to all of us at Singletrack and Grit.cx. All our thoughts are now with her husband Tom and all her family and friends.

Singletrack Owner/Publisher

Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.

  1. So sorry and sad to hear this Jenn was a wonderful person and always straight to the point which was always nice, she will be greatly missed by the whole cycling community. My thoughts go out to her family and friends.

  2. What awful news – sending big love to Jenn’s family and friends.

As a 38 year old myself, it reminds me to make the most of every moment.

It is a comfort that she has left us such an excellent body of work to re- read, and remind ourselves why we all love getting out on our bikes

  3. rip Jenn – and thank you for the words and inspiration. I hope your family and friends can take some small comfort from the impact you had on so many xx

  4. Oh no. Knew it was coming but was hoping not too soon. Just rubbish. Sincere condolences to everyone at STW, Jenn’s family and friends. Above all, RIP Jenn, you will be very much missed around these parts.

  5. Awful news. It is devastating when it happens to anyone, but 38 is too damn young.
I never met Jenn but it is starkly obvious from the posts from Singletrack and the responses in the comments and forum that she was very well loved. That’s something to be proud of.
