It’s with tremendous sadness that we have to announce that our Deputy Editor, Jenn Hill died yesterday after her long battle with lung cancer, at St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds. She was 37.
Although expected after her decision to step down as Deputy Editor just over a month ago the news is still shocking to all of us at Singletrack and Grit.cx. All our thoughts are now with her husband Tom and all her family and friends.

As a 38 year old myself, it reminds me to make the most of every moment.
It is a comfort that she has left us such an excellent body of work to re- read, and remind ourselves why we all love getting out on our bikes

Awful news. It is devastating when it happens to anyone, but 38 is too damn young.
I never met Jenn but it is starkly obvious from the posts from Singletrack and the responses in the comments and forum that she was very well loved. That’s something to be proud of.
#cancerisacunt – I make no apologies in this instance for my language

That was Jenn through and through, endlessly positive, supportive and giving.

Jenn was fab.
I only met her a few times – always on bikes or in bike shops – and I haven’t seen her for a long time, but she was one of those people who leaves an impression.
