Bike world’s top guns expected…
That’s right- the Tweed Valley’s favourite bike festival is back for 2016- and you’re invited! Granted it’s only October, but we all need something on the far horizon to pull us through the coming winter months- and a gathering of like-minded riders should do the job nicely.
Running from 16-30 May, the 20016 version of 2015’s Best UK Event, Show or Series (according to you all) will open entry for several events on October 13 at 9:00 AM. On Tuesday morning, the gates open then Skinny Tweed, Love Cross, Family Day, and Natural Tweed will open- and likely fill quickly. Which to choose? Here’s a brief rundown:
- Skinny Tweed: A friendly, welcoming, and more friendly way to discover 75km of Tweedy tarmac. No girth requirements for either riders or tyres- all are welcome.
- Love Cross: Urban cyclocross mayhem! How could that not be fun?
- Family Day: Balance bikes, pedal bikes, wee bikes- for the kids, mind. And plenty of not racing!
- Natural Tweed: No trail centres or flow nonsense here- just a handpicked selection of the region’s finest climbs and descents. Self-guided and free- just don’t forget to pack extra clothes and sandwiches.
For those looking to get rad and/or shred the gnar, stay tuned- entries for the three Tweed Valley Enduros (enduroes?) will be on sale shortly.
