American Aaron Gwin taking the top spot in the men’s race (with chain intact) and England’s own Rachel Atherton finished first in the women’s event – even though she had already secured her fourth World Cup crown before she took to the track.
Manon Carpenter finished second with Tahnee Seagrave taking third to make up an all-British podium for the women. Woop! Go GB, go GB etc etc.
Greg Minaar fell three and half seconds short of taking the win from Gwin in the chaps’ race, and French youngster Loris Vergier placed third for the first time in his professional career.
