It’s race kick-off season in the UK and the calendar is crammed with all sorts of events, from cross-country to enduro. Here’s some news from one of the latter…
All five rounds of the Mondraker Enduro Series are based in Wales. It kicks off at Coed Trallwm near Llanwrtyd Wells on March 21-22nd, with later rounds taking in Nant-yr-Arian and Herefordshire’s Baskerville Hall, as well as the two-day Welsh National Champs in Crychan and Irfon Forests.
Organiser Red Kite Events says that the events are “very much aimed at the serious trail rider” and will feature tougher courses than last year’s series, with “increased technical challenges as well as more corners, drops and fast rooty sections”. Sounds like it’s an ideal counterpart to the trail centre-based Welsh Gravity Enduro series we reported on last week.
The full rundown of dates and venues is:
21/22 March – Coed Trallwm MTB Centre, Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys.
18/19 April – Nant-yr-Arian, Aberyswyth, Ceredigion
23/24 May – Crychan and Irfon Forests, Llanwrtyd Wells. The Welsh National Enduro Champs plus round 3 of the Enduro series
22/23 August – Coed Trallwm MTB Centre, Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys.
24/25 October – Baskerville Hall, Clyro, Herefordshire.
Entries are open now, with a slightly complicated choice of one (£35) or two (£50) days of racing for the March, April, August and October rounds. The May round is also the Welsh National Champs and this is two day only.
