RS-1 LTD
25 years after the original RS-1, the fork that revolutionized mountain biking, RockShox does it again. A chassis design never seen before, which integrates the fork’s steerer tube, crown and legs into a single carbon fiber upper. The all-new Accelerator Damper, which combines incredible small bump performance with an ultra-efficient lockout. Predictive Steering, a reimagined interface between hub and dropouts which enabled us to create an inverted fork light enough for XC racing and stiff enough for trail riding.
Fork RS1 ACS – Solo Air 100 29″ Predictive Steering Limited Edition Gloss Black/Retro Pink, Fast Black Accelerator XLoc Right Tapered (includes digital pump & 120 air shaft) A1 | € 1,658 | £1,416 |
PREDICTIVE STEERING
Predictive Steering features a stock 15mm Maxle Ultimate mated with a solid oversized axle running through the hub, the Torque Tube. When the system is clamped with the corresponding dropout, the Torque Tube axle becomes a structural part of the fork, providing unparalleled stiffness. Fork leg twisting is minimized. And, since Predictive Steering technology only adds material around the dropouts and on the hub’s axle, the weight difference compared to a standard 15mm through axle setup is minimal, while providing an unprecedented level of torsional stiffness for a lightweight, inverted fork. This technology gives even the best riders room to find a new line. And it’s only available on RS-1.

15mm axle but with a bit more material, tiny bit more weight but loads more stiffness.
So, like a 20mm bolt through then.
Looks good though.
It’s worth £1400 for the beanie. Uh huh.
“25 years after the original RS-1, the fork that revolutionized mountain biking, RockShox does it again.”
I always love SRAM marketing spiel and buzzwords. Making mountains out of molehills.
So essentially it’s a fork with pink graphics and a halfway decent proprietary hub/axle. For £1400. This is one mountain I won’t be climbing.
Would I be correct in assuming that the £1400 for the fork doesn’t include the proprietary hub as well?
you could buy a bike for that!
You get a free hat!!!
I’m in.
The world’s gone completely mad — its a short step from here to hell in a handcart 🙂
PS, as for the free beanie, well you could use it to fill the gap where your brain used to be before you threw £1,400 at a pair of black and pink forks !
