by 0

If you’re after some good old-fashioned Scottish racing in 2015, the good folk behind the 10 Under the Ben 10 hour race (next year it’s on June 20th) have been selling tickets at a reduced rate of £25 for a month or two now, but the prices are back up to £35 on Saturday 20th December.

Here’s the release in full:

You guys know a bargain when you see one! No Fuss’s 10 hour mountain bike race, 10 Under the Ben, has been selling at the bargain price of £25 for the last couple of months, and almost 500 of you have taken up the offer! But, good deals don’t last forever, and No Fuss will be returning the price to the normal (and still very bargainous!!) £35 on Saturday 20th December.

So if you are struggling for a Christmas present for your favourite bike mad partner, brother, cousin, granddad etc, get over to No Fuss Events website and register an entry to 10 Under the Ben. There are only 25 solo spots left, 20 pairs, some trios and a few quads.

No Fuss Events have been organising 10 Under for 11 years now, and regard this event as their flagship and one of their favourites to organise. Fiona from No Fuss: “10 Under is 10 hours of World Class trails, live music, great people and amazing scenery. There is so much fun and camaraderie out on the course and not just between the riders – everyone knows the Infamous Dancing Lady and DJ Skimbo. 2 magical folk armed with music and dancing shoes that are always strategically placed out on course to encourage all the riders along – some even stop for a dance!”

This event is very much about having a great day out on your bike, whether taking part as a solo, pair, trio or a quad rider. Some may see this as a personal challenge and we know you won’t be disappointed. For others this will be a tough race and endurance test to see how far they can go in 10 hours. The record holders Greig Brown and Hannah Barnes will both be racing next year – can anyone beat Greig’s 12 laps and Hannah’s 10 from 2010?

Entries are available online

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
