After spotting the Canyon Spectral CF being raced at the Enduro World Series by Joe Barnes, here’s one of the first production models on display at the Roc d’Azur; the Spectral CF 9.0 SL
Weighing in at a claimed 1950g for the frameset, the Spectral takes it’s design influence from the Strive to give it a long front centre.
Three models are kitted out with Cane Creek’s DB inline shock.
Shimano’s XTR is fitted to the top models. Mechanical on the 9.0 SL, Di2 on the LTD.
The 9.0 SL has a bluish tinge finish to the carbon fibre frame, to protect the bike from damage caused by brake levers in the case fo a crash there’s a very neat bump stop to limit the movement of the bars.
There’s a nice attention to detail on the internally routed cable ports and positioning.
And well thought out frame protectors.
Four models make up the range with prices starting at £3299 up to £6499.
The base model; the 9.0 comes with a Rockshox Pike, Reverb and XO 2×10 drivetrain.
Next model up the 9.0EX sees an upgrade to X01 1×11 at £3499.
The top of the range £6499 9.0 LTD is fitted out with full Shimano XTR Di2, Fox Float 32 iCTD Kashima fork and matching Float iCTD Kashima shock.
The 9.0 SL is priced at £3999.

I still don’t know what Shimano were thinking with that spider/chainring combo
I think Shimano were aiming for this…
Doh…
Like.
Need one. Anyone got the spare cash for me?
2 chain rings?… Could be worse I guess, they’re still putting triples on the XC hardtails!
