We went in search of some hardtails; here is a pick of some of our favourites:
Nukeproof’s recently released Scout, a 27.5in, 150mm front travel ripping machine.
The Scout is available in S,M,L,XL. There are two different spec. options, a comp model (green/black) and a race model (raw/black). The comp model comes in at £1599.99 and the race at £1299.99. If a full bike doesn’t take your fancy Nukeproof is doing the frame only at £349.99.
Two bikes from the Giant XTC range were on display. It was showing the Advanced SL 27.5 (back) and the Advanced 27.5 1 (front). If you have £3599.99 to spend then the lightweight Advanced SL-Grade Composite framed SL model could be for you. It’s equipped with SRAM’s 1×11 X01 drivetrain, Guide RS brakes and a 100mm Sid fork.
If maybe £3000+ is a bit too steep then maybe you would prefer the Advanced 1 maybe for you? Maybe? At £2899.99 you’re still getting an Advanced-grade composite frame, a full XT groupset and a 100m Fox fork.
The new Wooky Carbon RC from Devinci is their XC race machine. Full carbon frame backed up with a full Shimano SLX groupset and a RockShox Reba 100mm fork. Price £TBC.
BMC’s Teamelite TE02 29 comes equipped with SRAM’s X01 1×11 groupset, and stopping duties are taken care of by SRAM’s Guide RS brakes. Suspension duties lie with Fox and the 100mm 32 fork. Price £TBC.
Rocky Mountain’s Vertex 990 SL is available in S,M,L,XL and a range of spec models. The bike on display had X01 mech and shifter with Raceface’s Next SL crank, Shimano SLX brakes and a 100mm Sid fork.
And now from another angle:
Next up we have the Orange Clockwork 120. Available in S,M,L,XL, the 120mm forked, 27.5in alloy-framed Clockwork will only set you back £1000. With Shimano gearing and RockShox suspension, the Clockwork 120 is specced for value.
There is one upgrade available in the form of a RockShox Reverb Stealth post for an extra £320.
To finish off we have a carbon Canyon XC weapon:
Canyon’s Grand Canyon bike was on show, a carbon fibre 100mm forked ripper, suited ideally for marathon and XC riding/racing.
Available in a range of colours and spec models ranging from aluminium to top-drawer carbon.
That’s it for now we are going back out for some more Eurobike action.

The Rocky looks rather purty, and I won’t get tired of orange Orange’s either.
One of each please.
That Nukeproof looks like the nuts. I’m just off to decide what to buy in order to be able to afford the frame..
“Sell” not “Buy”. I’m sure you get the general idea
£320 for a Stealth Reverb on the Orange? So full RRP, but no discount for the post they take off. You’d be mad tomdomthat when you can get them for about £200 online!
Or even drop £320 on a single upgrade on a £1000 bike.
