Using a bolt-on grip was a bit of a change for me. A switch to X0 Grip Shift called for something a little stubbier on my bars as I found the standard length X0 grips to be far too long. Fitting was a simple one-minute job and they felt secure once on. Unfortunately the inner lock ring caused a few issues, as it places itself right at the end of the shifter and directly in the middle of the palm of your hand. During shorter rides it was never an issue, but on longer rides it started to hurt my hand.
Overall: Stubby simple solution for Grip Shift users, but not palm friendly.
