Chevin In Store (2)

Apart from the obvious… we’re all a year wiser, what’s changed over this last year?

We have been involved in some top events, from grass roots to regional monsters. From the up and coming Otley Sportive ride and the annual Otley Road Races to supporting local children’s coaching with the Otley Cycling Club.

Our new website, populated with the latest products has some cracking sale items too.

There’s a not so secret, rumour that you guys are spreading your wings further up the Wharfedale Valley?

Absolutely, it’s official. We recently announced the forthcoming opening of our flagship Trek Partnership store, in the vibrant market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Our new store on Skipton’s High Street, will boast over 3000sqf of bikes, clothing and accessories over two floors. With bikes ranging in disciplines from Mountain, Road, Hybrid, Juniors and clothing from Bontrager and Assos.

Ignore the architect’s interpretation of ‘bike’. This space will be full of fat wheelers (of all sizes)!

Perfectly located, at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and right on the historic Grand Départ 2014 route. The new store is in easy reach from Leeds, Manchester and surrounding areas.

Our new store will be opening its doors in Spring 2014. Stay in touch on Facebook and Twitter too with our new accounts.

Any new lines in-store that really tickle your fancy?

As the nights are slowly drawing in, the new USE Exposure and Moon lights look great value and are super bright. We will be stocking the full range and have demo lights available for customers to try.

What been hot, product-wise this summer?

Tubeless tyres! Both mountain and road. We always do very well with our road lines, 29er’s have been really strong and the new range from Whyte and Marin have been received very well by our customers.

What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?

Both in the media and on the shop floor the Whyte T129 has been turning heads. We have taken delivery of the first batch to come in to the country, and they are selling like hot cakes.

… and we still have some fantastic deals on some of our ex-demo and sale bikes here.

You guys are second to none 29er dealers, what’s the score with your demo bikes, custom builds… 650b?

Our new demo fleet will be arriving during September. Along with a great range of hard tails, full suspension and 29ers from Trek and Whyte (including the trail bike of the year the T-129s). We will be adding 650B bikes to the fleet for 2014.

We are planning to have a demo day in November following on from the success last year. This year is going to be bigger and include more guided routes.

Lastly, what do Singletrack Premier Subscribers get from you guys?

Glad to see Chevin doing well.

Used to be my LBS although I bought my first proper Mountain Bike ( I really wanted a Trek ) from the shop that was on the A65 as you went into Ilkley just along the road from the almighty ‘Trav’

When I was 16 a cycle to Otley to browse Flouro Hi Gear frame bags at the Oakleys at Chevin and the latest Tamiya at Otley Modelsport followed by lunch at cafe in was always a good day out.

    40+MPH down Chevin Road!!
