Santa Cruz introduce the Bronson; a 150mm travel 650b bike that looks to be aimed firmly at the Enduro scene. Here’s what they say about it…
BRONSON: 20 YEARS IN THE MAKING
Two decades of evolution at Santa Cruz brought us here. An entirely new frame, new wheel size and new perspective on what a 6” travel bike can conquer.
Bronson is not some rehashed 27.5″ tribute act to anything else in our range. It stands alone, testament to the years of designing and refining that took place at our old Bronson Street facility.
Locked up for months of secret testing, Bronson has broken straight onto the scene to already become the Syndicate’s first choice for their Enduro World Series campaign.
And with carbon and aluminum frame options, a range of kit choice and an unprecedented 10 possible decal combinations for the ENVE spec, Bronson represents our most customizable bike ever.
From Tazmon to Bronson… this is just the beginning
With a claimed weight of 6.8lb for a medium aluminium frame (Carbon 5.3lb), the 150mm VPP Bronson looks to be firmly aimed at the trail and enduro end of the market.
The frames feature 142×12 rear axles, a forged upper link, ISCG05 tabs, routing for a Reverb Stealth, 73mm threaded BB, two bottle mounts and the choice of standard or direct mount rear hanger.
The aluminium model will be available from May 2013 with the Carbon appearing earlier in April.
UK pricing is £1799 for the aluminium; the Carbon is currently TBC but we’d expect similar to the Tallboy LTc at £2599
