The weekend is looming, there’s freedom in the air! While we all kill time ’til hometime, let’s get fresh with the goods, cos it’s, erm, Fresh Goods Friday!
First up here’s one of those inbetweener wheel size bikes:
Saracen Kili Flyer 650B
The Kili Flyer 650b is a modern take on what was a classic UK bike. Obviously the name gives away the fact it comes designed around the new middle way wheel size but the frame squeezes in most other modern standards too. A tapered headtube up front holds a pair of 130mm 15mm thru axle 27.5in Revelation RLTs which are matched to a Fox Float CTD Kashima shock at the back.
The frame features Saracen’s signature Tuned Ride Link suspension with 30mm main pivot cartridge bearings and 15mm Norglide linkage bushings. A stiff back end is aided by the 12x142mm dropouts. A Deore/SLX mixed drivetrain offers 3×10 gearing and stopping comes courtesy of Shimano’s M596 180/160mm disc brakes.
There’s a polite queue forming in the office to give this one a spin.

Dog Buff!
Here’s Matt and Emily’s Alfie modelling his new Dog Buff. It comes in two, smaller, dog-neck sizes and it also has reflective bits so the little scamp is easier to spot in the dark. It can even be used as an emergency collar when it’s not simply making him look gorgeous.

Green Oil Agent Apple
Complete with ‘nam style graphics, Agent Apple is a new super-strong degreaser from Green Oil. As you might expect, it does it without petrochemicals. Green Oil says that many ‘Contains citrus’ degreasers also contain a lot of other components besides. Green Oil’s one uses plant alcohol to dissolve the grime, along with other fun stuff like grapefruit extract. This is a lighter weight degreaser for immersing your black, gunky chain and making it gleam again. It can also be sprayed on.

Giro Xar Helmet
The new issue of Singletrack is out now, with a trail helmets grouptest in it. This seems a good time to show you one of the new graphic designs that didn’t make it into the test and to tell you that the price for 2013 has come down from the £114.99 that we published to a new £99.99 price.

Some people have, but….
Has Sim shrunk in the wash? Is it just me or is that first pc with the RS making him look tiny or the fork look massive. “This one is close and those are far away”!
It’s all the friction with his designer’s tablet. He’s worn down.
but Chipps…that would suggest he rubs his whole body over it or visa versa. Hang on a minute he must have got one of those turn your tablet into manly scented soap apps.
Dog buff, it the dogs bol…
Oh you’re ahead of me
I like the dog, how much does it sell for and what sizes are available?
Those RockShox are actually for 42ers. The fourth way.
I believe the correct Father Ted quote would be
“These ones are small, those are far away”
Sorry.
Bit steep for the Saracen considering the spec…
I like the dog, how much does it sell for and what sizes are available?
Surely 26, 27.5 and 29. Dimensions in cm, from floor to shoulder 🙂
For the oldschool amongst us, all Saracens should come in that colour. No other choice should be permitted.
I’ve got one of the Saracens and its sweet ride, the spec is fine and the SLX works as well as any other Shimano kit. There are a lot of people that miss the fact it has a CTD shock, Norglide bushings etc and a great looking bike. You also need to take into account that Saracen have a dealer network and being part of madison some of the best aftermarket support around. Test one you won’t be disappointed.
