Midweek Mini Movies 122

by 7

Autumn; the traditional time to stock up for the winter ahead. We’ve been out in the fields collecting a bumper harvest of quality movies from among the crop this week.

A bit of enduro, a bit of adventure, a bit of dirt jump and a bit of urban Mexican downhill. As a wise man once said, “It’s all bikes innit”.

Kick back, feet up and get your brew and butty ready for this week’s Midweek Mini Movies…

Megavalanche 2012 – Clash of the titans

Last July Italian video maker Gianluca Ricceri followed Jérome Clementz and Rémy Absalon during the whole week that eventually led to the race of the year, Megavalanche 2012.

Mondraker Enduro Series en La Fenasosa

Enduro racing in the sun featuring T-Mo. We like the corkscrew trail feature, the event HQ and the sun.

It’s a simple formula to start this week’s movies; Gnar, Gnar, Ulan Bator. Racing under a big sky.

52 weeks of film #4

Part of the 52 weeks of film series – Episode 4. Brendan Fairclough, Olly Wilkins and Bernard Kerr session Woburn.

Mexillent Adventure

Four friends head south of the US border to find an adventure aboard fat bikes. We can only hope there’s a Bill and Ted riding in there.

Are We World Class?

MTBcut ask whether Scottish mountain biking is world class. They even got our Chipps to chip in…

Cotic Bikes presents –

Jake and Elwood show Cotic have got soul.

Down Hill Taxco 2012

A Mexican downhill race: urban, very urban, tight and steep.

Japan: A Skier’s Journey

This week’s snowstoke follows skiers Chad Sayers and Forrest Coots through Japan; from Tokyo’s city lights to Hokkaido’s sacred hardwood forests.

ERW – Airless Bicycle Tires

And finally another possible answer to the ever popular ‘What tyres for…’ question.

Thanks to everyone that sent in suggestions this week. If you’ve seen or made anything you reckon should be up here next time, the address is, as ever: newsdesk@singletrackworld.com.

I’d love to see those airless tyres after 100m of typical UK in November muddy bridleway.

That Mexican video is pretty KrAzY! There’s a section in there where it really is one gnarly thing after another!

Hmm Tyres to match your Marin and Sandals. Could be heavy during winter mind.

    Is it April 1st?

    Liking Cotic’s sense of humor… 🙂

That airless tyre video just seems to demonstrate a “tyre” system with absolutely no give in it what so ever! The tread simply doesn’t seem to flex or deform over the terrain, and look at the high fundamental ride frequency where he skids the rear wheel into a turn in slow mo?

I’d hazard a guess that he holes in the airless tyres is to demonstrate & display the theory. While I can understand the current ‘issues’ pointed out here it looks like it’s still at some point in the R&D stages a the moment so perhaps they improve the way they flex as time goes by.

I certainly hope so as I like the look of them

That Mexican Taxco thing is like the downhill version of the TT races. awesome & totally nuts.
