by singletrackjon 2

Our Rab reports from the first big day of the Trade Winds/Sime Darby Foundation Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge:

The Langkawi Mountain Bike Challenge kicked off good and proper today with a 65km stage round the island. Talk among the riders was that thing were going to be wet in the jungle – and the talk turned out to be true. A ceremonial start at Dataran Lang, or Eagle Square, was staged at 10am when all of the riders were waved off together. After a 3km neutralized section riders were then gridded on the previous days standings in their categories.
