News from the Charge Bikes boys about this year’s Cobble Wobble hillclimb in Frome this weekend…
We’ve got a whole host of star riders coming from VERY far afield to the streets of Frome in Somerset for the 3rd annual Frome Cobble Wobble. As well as “athletes” from the Charge team the secret international stars will be announced in due course.
Last years event was mega with Mongoose’s Chris Akrigg taking the King of the Cobbles overall title and a fantastic crowd that came out to support the local racers. Charge’s Neil Cousins, a previous winner of the King of the Cobbles, will be a hot favourite to win back the crown with Chris out of action thanks to a big injury.
Neil’s efforts will be hotly contested by Aussie National DH Champ and World Cup DH rider Mick Hannah, Kye Forte, Grant Fielder, Martyn Ashton, World Cup 4X and BMX racer Lewis Lacey, top UK Enduro DH racer Aidan Bishop, MuleBar girl Anna Glowinski, Elite XC MTB racer Jon Pybus, winner of the RedBull Chaser in Bristol Chris “Meatcalves” Metcalfe and loads more.
All the entries for riders have been filled for this years event on Sunday the 25th of September but it’s a spectacle not to be missed so if you can get there, do so. You will not be disappointed, its a great atmosphere for all ages.
Here is a video of last years action:

I’ll be marshalling. And competing. And then getting drunk. And then falling over.
Do it the other way round. Fall over, get drunk, compete and then marshal – you know you want to.
i’ll also be marshalling – then taking incrimenating photos of Thurman Murman to post on line
Looks like a “nowt too serious – fun for all” event. I hope it stays that way, but I bet it doesn’t.
got back late last night from it, great event, good laugh, well organised and spot-on prizes, cheers
